Travel Vlogs and Virtual Travel

travel vlogs

Do you like watching travel vlogs?

Travel vlogs are full of experiences. You are transported to an awesome place, get a feel for its culture and vibes, and usually the top ten things to do around. It’s a thrilling adventure. Beautiful scenic landscapes, a cultural heaven, a trip for your soul: virtual travel is a way to enjoy yourself, but also to learn and encounter. So many people like to travel, I like to travel virtually. The advantage is that you don’t have to pack and unpack, and you don’t leave the comfort of your home, but your heart is on a trip.

Venice, Italy

By watching travel vlogs, I visited Venice, Italy – the City of Canals. Built on over 100 islands, it has a main tourist area that is totally free of cars. Opera houses, theaters, beautiful and pleasant districts, and the beating heart of the city: Piazza San Marco. To visit all those crowded places without taking part in all the hassle is one of the advantages of virtual travel. Seeing Venice from above is a magical experience.

Queenstown in New Zealand

Another amazing town I have watched travel vlogs about is Queenstown in New Zealand. There is an ice bar there, where everything is made of ice, even the glasses. It is also famous for some of the best ski fields on the continent. When you hike for the best views in Queenstown, you just wish to bottle the view and take it home. This city is famous as the adventure capital of the world, for its bungee-jumping and sky-diving options.

Seoul, South Korea

I also virtually went to Seoul, South Korea. There is a massive skyscraper there – Lotte tower – 123 floors high. There are walking streets and plenty of street food vendors, and beautiful houses. A theme park especially for kids. Listen, the Koreans have built a Gangnam Statue for the song Gangnam Style, which gathered millions of views on YouTube. It’s probably more famous than Buddha’s temple.

Bruges, Belgium

In Bruges, Belgium, you can delight in canal cruises, Belgian waffles, and making your own chocolate. For that, you have to visit for real, not watch travel vlogs. A fun and relaxing way to see the city is a canal cruise. There are scenic parks and peaceful small squares. You can take part in a chocolate-making workshop for about 35$. There are scenes like from a postcard – simply begging for a photo.

Lisbon, Portugal

They say it’s a great place for food. There are egg tarts, roasted nuts, and plenty of seafood, croquettes, different kinds of meat, and awesome desserts like masaladas – Portuguese donuts. One of the disadvantages of travel vlogs is that you can’t actually taste the food. There’s a castle called St George with colorful peacocks roaming about it. Located at the mouth of the Tagus River, Lisbon is the largest city in Portugal and one of the oldest cities in Western Europe.

Florence, Italy

You don’t need to spend all your time in museums, but you could. The oldest pharmacy in the entire world is actually here in Florence, completely free to go in. The Arno River is a beautiful place, with a special atmosphere. A good thing about travel vlogs is that you get a lot of advice on what to do if you ever go to actually visit the place. For Florence – stay in the heart of town. Get a ticket for the Boboli Gardens and the Bardini Gardens; they are both very picturesque.

Prague, Czech Republic

The largest castle in the world, according to the Guinness Book of Records, is here. You can enjoy the outside for free. It was built around the 9th century by a Christian Bohemian Prince, made of stone and fortified with a moat. In the Old Town is the Astronomical Clock – one of the oldest clocks in the world, which brings luck to the entire city. The Old Town Square is the center, the heart, and the soul of Prague. In the Voltava River, there are swans and islands. You can take canal cruises.

Bali Indonesia

I learned that Bali, Indonesia, includes 3 stunning islands. One of its traditions is a day of silence and reflection, when the entire island shuts down, and even the airport closes. It’s also the home to the world’s most expensive coffee. The people of Bali have their own language, dance forms, music, and rituals. It has got vibrant culture and lifestyle. Bali people revere water as a source of life and purification. They have many temples dedicated to many gods. Mount Agung is the tallest peak in Bali – people of Bali believe it’s the home of the Gods.

Marrakech, Morocco

My next destination was Marrakech, Morocco. It truly stimulates all your senses at once. Try traditional local cuisine: couscous, meat brochettes, and tajine. Check the souks – markets or bazaars for babouches, lanterns, ceramics, carpets, and leather goods. Jemaa el-Fna Square – the beating heart of Marrakech with a variety of food vendors and snake charmers – it really comes to life in the evening. Majorelle Gardens – ponds with frogs, cacti, palms, the park was created by artist Jacques Morelle, who lived there.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

In Buenos Aires, you should visit Recoleta Cemetery. It is like a grand outdoor museum with monuments to countless politicians, artists, and intellectuals. Walk the colorful streets of La Boca – a vibrant port neighbourhood. In its streets, performers and tango dancers create a lively atmosphere. For bars, clubs, and restaurants, experience Palermo Soho. The largest green space in the city is Bosques de Palermo.

Kyoto, Japan

In ancient times, it was the imperial capital of the country. The Pure Water Monastery is a temple that offers amazing views of Kyoto and is particularly beautiful in autumn and spring, with its maple and cherry trees. There are three streams, each bringing a form of luck – one for longevity, one for success, and one for fortune in love. However, drinking from all three streams is considered greedy.

All this I Learned from Travel Vlogs

These are the destinations I have visited so far via travel vlogs. I take notes while I am watching, hence the materials for this article. Thanks to virtual travel, I enjoyed spectacular views, delved into different cultures, and really enjoyed the ride. I would recommend virtual travel to everyone.
