Sea and Sand

sea and sand

If I stand in front of you with a pail and a rake in a preferred color, do you think we will fight and splash with water a lot before you choose? Sea and sand… I used to love the sea. I used to talk to it and write poems for it. The sea was my lover, and I used to send him love letters on mulberry leaves. I used to love gathering seashells and little stones at the beach. I could make pail shapes on the sand for hours.

First Encounter with Sea and Sand

When I was very little, my dad decided to introduce me to water, so he picked me up and threw me into the sea. I got so frightened; I didn’t dare to approach the water for the rest of the trip. But gradually, I overcame my fear of water and learned to swim like a fish, or rather like a frog.

My favorite was lying like a star, floating on seawater, the sun upon my face. I used to talk to the sea, and I felt like it understood. Playing with the wet sand was pure joy… I now want to resurrect my love for the sea, for I lost it to a terrible sunburn.

Sea Romance

It would be such a delight to be on the beach with a person your heart truly believes in. I want to go on a road trip to the sea, with music playing loudly in the car. To make love, to watch the sunrise – I want to be poisoned with life. I want to get tan and a garland. In the merry streets, I want to walk beside the people selling pancakes, ice cream, and sweet corn. I want to dance to the music of every restaurant while I am passing by. To build a castle, to share moments full of sun. And his rosy complexion turns sexy tanned in the sun. I want every summer to be an unforgettable one – to touch, to feel the atmosphere, the sand… to make angels…to draw with your finger and write names, to light a fire on the sand at night, to feel like a child once again.
