You have decided already that this is going to be the best summer ever. Here is a list of ideas of what you can do to rock the hottest season:
Join a sultry dance class
Have a virgin cocktail and dance under the stars. You can choose to move joyfully in the hot rhythms of bachata, or do the tango – the royalty of dances. One of the best things about dancing in couples is the free hug. Sometimes it turns into fire and desire, and summer is the best season for that.
Take fantasy books from the library and read them in the park
You like to be a part of a magical world, and fantasy literature gives you the chance. Feel again like a child on an incredibly great adventure. Fantasy books stir your imagination like nothing else.
Start logging your activities
Why? It gives you a sense of achievement every single day. How? Into a small notepad, make sure you underline the date with a marker, so that you can refer to it at a later time. Then simply begin listing your daily actions like: “had bulletproof coffee” and right underneath “had my hot water with lemon.” Make sure you keep the notepad on your bureau so that you can fill it in and look at it at all times. You will be proud of everything you’ve done one day.
Start a dopamine journal
That’s the famous journaling practice of writing one line for every day in which you summarize the coolest thing that happened that day. In my case, today will remain forever in my history as the day I first made the Ocho – a very essential element of the tango dance. Probably on the same day next year I have to bring candies to my tango teacher.
Go to the sea and jump on the waves, alternatively, bathe your feet with sea salt
Now, jumping on the waves is super fun, even if you aren’t exactly the water-friendly type. Salty water goes into your nostrils, and your mouth is open from the excitement, so it goes in as well, and basically everywhere, but jumping on the waves is an unparalleled experience and makes life so fantastic! But if you are far from the sea, just nostalgically put some sea salt in hot water, bathe your feet, and imagine you are connecting to the sea.
Go to the park in the evening, searching for fireflies
We all love shiny small things, but when they float in the air, they have extra charm. The notable bugs are rarely seen in city circumstances, so feel blessed if you get to meet some. Search for them in well-maintained city parks late in the summer evenings, and they will take you back to your childhood.
Prepare a celebration for Litha – the summer solstice
To celebrate the summer solstice like a real witch would do, it’s usually enough to learn the corresponding colors, herbs, deities, and foods. I will write a post about it soon. Then wear the colors, make tea of the herbs, speak well of the deities, and prepare a nice feast. The most important thing is the mood; you have to be extra happy because this is a great holiday.
Start each day with blessings
Words have power, and so do thoughts. So, it’s in your favor to imagine and speak the best things that could happen to you. If you do this on a daily basis, it’s even more powerful. If you want to make your life magical, fix your feelings first. Then your thoughts will follow.
Pull a card of divination with a question
For this practice, I use the Green Witch Oracle, which is basically cards with a flower on them and a word related to the flower. It’s better if you pull out the card at 11:11 in the morning. Before you do the divination, feel the deck between your fingers and direct your thoughts toward it, preferably with a question regarding your day. In this way, the divination will be clearer, and sometimes it is an absolutely relevant answer to your question.
Put honey, cinnamon, and ice in your chamomile tea
Honey is the drink of the gods in most mythologies. It’s sweet and sacred, and it relates to attraction. Cinnamon, witches say, is related to prosperity and success. If you combine both energies, you get a true love elixir: successful attraction, or what you dream of when he looks at you. Chamomile is the herb of the Sun – so, a summer love.
Align with the phases of the Moon
Each of the Moon phases has correspondences and best practices related to it, and what you can do is behave in alignment with the Moon’s different moods. It’s a cycle of generation and completion of intentions that you can get familiar with if you want to make your life even more exciting.
Read about the fairies and fairy tales
Oh, how I love fairy tales. The last one I read was The Metal Pig by Andersen. I think the word fairy comes from the mischievous little creatures, which reportedly inhabit soulful gardens. Many people imagine they can connect with the fairies if they leave shiny things around or if they plant certain flowers that the fae love. However, they seem to be moody; therefore, reading about them is the safer option.
Spend time out in the blessed Sun
Yes, by all means – get your Vitamin D. Stretch in the sun like a cat if you are on your own terrace. Also, meditate and hug a tree or two – in the park, so that you don’t get seen by nosy neighbours. Hugging trees is one of the grounding practices I enjoy.
Start a gratitude journal
In Bulgaria, we have a saying: “What you sow is what you’ll reap.” So we’d like to plant beautiful thoughts in our mindsets. The most pleasing thought, which evokes a feeling immediately, is the thought of gratitude. So make sure you emit such thoughts on a regular basis.
Stir your coffee clockwise with intention
Intention is all life needs to be called “magical.” You are a human, you have desires and goals. Think of them when you stir your coffee clockwise and start that little ritual this summer season. You’ll thank me later.
Thank you for the touch with your superreality. I took your dopamine dose…now will internalise some ideas and will be soon sharing my opinion and feelings.
To be continued….
