Day Two – A Total Failure

I have a confession to make:

I ate some chips and chocolate today. It was after I had a rich breakfast. I was happy.

Chips and chocolate? YESSSS!

I have a concept related to will power, and it sounds like this:

“I either respect myself, or I am happy.”

Most of the time, I prefer to be happy.

When I shared this fact with my weight loss buddy, he showed me this:

Emotion vs. Willpower

Willpower is a great tool. But it’s like a turbo mode. If you use it for too long, you will burn. But people, who achieved honorable and high goals, would not have succeeded without it. A friend of mine recently argued with me. So I did research. And guess what? No one! None of these people has used it permanently. The emotion, baby! This is the fuel that has led these people to the ultimate victory. Passion to your vision is the stream, where your ship will glide without ever needing oars. Today is a great way to look at you. To find out whether your attitude and desire are in one direction. And let the will be just a temporary turbo mode for your emotion. It’s worth it!

“I don’t really like will power” – he added.

I really didn’t overindulge in the chocolate and chips. I just had a bite.

But then what is the road to success?

Description: No description available.

“And the smart people?” my weight loss buddy asked:

“Smart people just see the journey and enjoy it without seeing Win/Fail signs.”

I have always thought he has to write a self-help book.

So tomorrow is a new day.

Here are some more things fellow writers do for their health:

They set a timer and every so often, do some stretches and exercise. They also brainstorm while dancing to the song, which gives them inspiration. Here is one such song:

But there is something incredibly good that happened today. I have a new student, a Beginner. For the following days he will be studying with me for around 4 hours per day. He needs to learn English a.s.a.p. I believe he is going to advance very fast. However, I will be so busy, that I am not sure I will be able to passionately focus on weight loss. And I will hardly have time for writing.

My new student is an engineer who lives in Cairo, almost in his sixties. He loves dogs, the color red, chocolate, Friday and winter. He loves white wine, Christmas, snow, fishing and Bulgarian barbecue. He is also very dexterous, a pleasant and polite person. So he will fill in my entire schedule for the following days.

What about writing?

I will miss writing so much. I can’t wait to see what will happen next to my characters. I love them very much and all of them without exception behave like me. A whole city of slightly eccentric people – it’s very cute. I have never been so in love with a book – ever!

The evening finishes with a letter to a pen-pal and a coffee cup of raspberry wine. Even though it’s announced as a total failure, it’s been a very productive day. One of the most successful, failed days ever!

I know that I can speak about writing until I annoy even the most patient person. It obviously is more than a passion to me. Dean Kansky said: "You know, the Greeks didn't write obituaries. They only asked one thing after a man died: "Did he have passion?"
