Basics of Color Therapy

What is color therapy?

“Let me, O let me bathe my soul in colors;
let me swallow the sunset and drink the rainbow.”
― Kahlil Gibran

Why do we all love the rainbow? Why are our lives so filled with color?

If you only think about a color, you will see how its vibration immediately changes your disposition.

Color therapy exists. It feels wonderful. It is truly healing. There is energy to harness in each color, as colors speak to us in their own language. Coloring is a spiritual exercise, close to meditation because it focuses your mind on the creation of pure beauty. It can profoundly transform you. Therefore be mindful of the colors you are using.

“Coloring is not just an activity for keeping kids occupied. In reality, coloring books and coloring pages for adults are also extremely therapeutic and can help generate wellness, quietness, mindfulness and the exact same benefits which meditation imparts on the brain.”

Colors and Business

Choice of colors is fundamental for your brand – it’s a part of its message. Your color palette must appeal to your customers. You should select a color, which matches the personality of the customer. One great sample is Tiffany’s turquoise; it speaks directly to your sense of luxury and uniqueness and immediately stands out.

Colors and Chakras

For the beginners in Eastern philosophy – the word chakra means disk and it represents energy centers of spiritual power in the human body – and there are seven of them, all shining in different colors.

“Color directly influences the soul.”

Wassily Kandinsky,

The energy of colors is not just a physical power, which disappears when we close our eyes. It exists and effects on our mental, emotional and spiritual state, regardless if we are awake or asleep,   if we have good sight or we are blind. Blind people are very sensitive to color vibrations, some of them can tell the color by touch.

The energy of light is extremely important for humans.

Color Diet

The color of food gives important information for its effect on our bodies and its healing properties on the physical, emotional and intellectual plane. The meals and water may be the only source of nutrition for our bodies, but we also need other forms of food. Our souls need the food of love, and our spirit feeds on light and air. If we receive enough fresh air, love, natural light, pure water and energy boosting food, all these cosmic elements will combine into a holistic diet. This new way of life will give us better health, longevity, and calmness of mind and spirit.

Colors and Music

“Music gives color to the air of the moment.”
― Karl Lagerfeld

Coloring Books

There is a craze on Amazon for adult coloring books. Kate Middleton is a fan.

Everywhere online and in bookstores you are bound to discover “adult coloring books.” People buy them for their times of relaxation. The coloring trend was started by Joanna Basford in 2013. She created beautiful coloring books and it turned out millions of people needed them. These books help people “unwind.” It is not just coloring, it feels like you are in a creative process, you are actually doing art. America is obsessed with coloring books. Bookstores and craft stores are bursting. You can actually come to YouTube channels that let people watch what others are coloring.

Relax, stress relief and good vibes are the promises of coloring books. People, especially people with imagination respond well to it. As a result, they are a rage right now.

According to American Art Therapy Association, art therapy is a process of creating an artwork, which is meant to explore feelings, reconcile conflicts, foster self-awareness, manage behavior, develop social skills, reduce anxiety and increase self-esteem. Just like meditation coloring allows us to silence our brains and focus on the moment and we experience a silent rapture.

The coloring books are the trendy secret to Happiness.

I know that I can speak about writing until I annoy even the most patient person. It obviously is more than a passion to me. Dean Kansky said: "You know, the Greeks didn't write obituaries. They only asked one thing after a man died: "Did he have passion?"
